Midnight Fusic is out with a new single titled “Lovesick”!
Still fresh off from high school and already topping the Hitz.FM Met 10 Charts with their single – Midnight Fusic has a lot more in their musical arsenal. This is their new single, Lovesick!
Lovesick is a jangly, dreamy track with funky sensibilities to the sound. Midnight Fusic brings dreampop and indie into a smooth combo pack, making it accessible to people who are not familiar with the more lo-fi side of the genre but still staying true to its serene and laidback nature.
The band cites influences such as The 1975, Muse, Bad Suns, and even local indie icons such as Hujan, but what’s great about them is that they possess the heart of gentler, warmer indie bands like .
The penchant for sentimentality is also found in the lyricism. Lovesick has a good amount of cheese in it, (their chorus: But I’m lovesick/And now I’m sick of her) and is poppy enough for those yearning for Tumblr-esque days.
The story of Midnight Fusic starts when a group of friends came together over their love for alternative and indie music. Beginning with the core members Raja Arif Aizudin (vocals and rhythm guitars), and lead guitarist Adrian Danial, the duo expanded into a band with the inclusion of self-taught bassist, Firdaus Azmi and Muaz Rabbani who picked up the drums when asked if he’d like to join the band.
As of today, Midnight Fusic has been performing for various events in and outside Kuala Lumpur, writing and composing their own music for a little over two years. The band has garnered 22,000 fans across 56 countries through their first single and has received 4,000 hours of airplay on Spotify alone.
Midnight Fusic is also bringing their sound to a fuller spectrum with a debut EP planned for the first quarter of 2018- in the meanwhile, don’t forget to check out their upcoming gigs for the year to see them live! In addition to that, they also have a music video coming up on the 26th of January!
