‘Villa Nabila’ Selected for Spain’s Sitges Film Festival!

Syafiq Yusof‘s third film Villa Nabila has been selected for the Sitgest Film Festival. It will screen as part of the Brigadoon section of the festival on October 17.

Villa Nabila is a horror film containing documentary and found footage elements. It is based on the accounts of a blue-collar worker tasked to destruct the film’s titular building and stars Pekin Ibrahim and Tisya Shamsir.

Released on January 15 this year, the film has gone on to become the third-biggest local film of the year, earning more than RM2.8 million in box office receipts. It has also accumulated positive reviews from the media, with high praise coming from Harian Metro and Oh! Media.

The Sitges Film Festival is the world’s foremost international festival dedicated to fantasy and horror films. It has taken place annually since 1967 in Sitges, Spain.
