As November is finally here, Malaysia’s longest-running creative arts festival Urbanscapes 2018 has a lot more in store for fans nationwide with their latest announcement of their additional line-up! From international acts to more satellite shows featuring the best of the country in poetry, music, exhibitions, outdoor installations, to talks, markets, and community programmes. , you’ll surely be awestruck over the number of events to attend!

The 16th edition of the Urbanscapes festival will be featuring over 98 music acts and 95 artist collectives, at 9 venues all over KL in the span of three weekends throughout this festive month! So what else is in store for you? Well, read on to find out!

1. Unlimited Grooves Festival Pre-party featuring Alvvays and Zee Avi!

As if the line-up couldn’t get any more exciting, Toronto-based indie pop group Alvvays and our very own Bornean maverick Zee Avi will be kicking off the month-long party on the 3rd of November 2018 at the Chin Woo Stadium!

Alvvays will be touching down onto Malaysian shores for the first time; with sugary, heart-tugging melodies and strum-’n-thrummers In Undertow (heheh!).

Taking the international indie scene by storm, Alvvays presented the world with their very first self-titled album “Alvvays” in 2014, featuring cult-favorite singles “Adult Diversion”, “Marry Me Archie” and “Next Of Kin”!

Even more than its breakout self-titled predecessor, Alvvays’ sophomore album, ‘Antisocialites‘ garnered even more attention for its back-to-back sharp, punchy rock and swooning dream-pop spectacles such as “Dreams Tonite”, “Plimsoll Pumps” and “Not My Baby”-

As eloquently rated “A light 8 out of 10” by Anthony Fantano, you’ll most definitely want to catch this super band live!

Malaysian singer-songwriter Zee Avi completes the double-bill lineup, with her ever fantastic grooves and soothing vocals!

As a prelude to Unlimited Grooves Festival by U Mobile, the pre-party featuring Alvvays and Zee Avi will be held at Chin Woo Stadium.

His first EP “Roy Pablo” that was released in 2017 paved the way towards his music’s success that would then change up things for his career a year later. Now with the release of his second EP titled “Soy Pablo” this year, Boy Pablo certainly doesn’t disappoint with his signature melancholic yet sunny bravado on this 7-track masterpiece!
